Georgia Irene (Joe) Burt

Georgia Irene (Joe) Burt 93 ½ of Independence, MO passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at her home, She was surrounded by her loving family and friends as she passed from this life into the Paradise of God. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. She was so kind, loving, and possessed the pure love of Jesus Christ.

Georgia was born on November 18, 1924, and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1943. She was married to Charles M. Burt Sr. on June 15, 1946 and they were married for 63 ½ years before Charlies passing in September 2009. From that union came 3 children; Charles M. Burt Jr. (wife – Gail), Janice I. She had 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.   She was a member of the RLDS Church and taught primary Sunday School for 30 years.   She worked at American National Insurance Company for 14 years, but her real love was being a mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, quilter, crochietier, avid reader of the Scriptures, and loved to fish with her beloved Charlie! Georgia’s family would like to say a special thanks to all the Hospice people who helped care for our dear mother over the past two years.
