Glodene Kappelman

Glodene Kappelman, 97, died Aug. 9, 2009. She was born in Cross Timbers, MO, the daughter of Elbert & Lucretia Huffman. She lived in Waverly, MO, after her marriage to Ben D. Kappelman in 1932. Both retired in 1982 and moved to Kansas City, MO. Glodene was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waverly, MO, and later transferred her membership to Peace Lutheran Church. She received her teaching degree from CMSTC in Warrensburg, MO, and taught in the Hazel Hill and Centerview schools in Waverly. She was at her husband’s side during their productive years of farming and orchard work. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983. She leaves 2 sons and 3 daughters-in law, Donald and Lee Kappelman of Sisters, OR, Larry and Doris Kappelman of Raytown, MO, and Sharon Kappelman of Ridgecrest, CA. She also leaves one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Yoss of Kansas City, MO, as well as many grandchildren. A private family graveside service will be held at the Waverly Cemetery.
