Gwendolyn Ann Tierney, 76, of Stover, Missouri, passed away at Bothwell Memorial Hospital on May 26, 2020 of natural causes. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, Missouri. Graveside service following at Floral Hills Cemetery.
Gwendolyn was born on October 8, 1943 in Denver, Colorado to Edwin and Lawana LaVelle. She was a loving housewife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. Gwendolyn enjoyed doing crafts, puzzles, traveling to meet new people, working with her hands, growing different houseplants and loved to knit or crochet things for her family. She loved nothing more than having the family all together and cooking big meals for the holidays. Gwendolyn also loved dancing to Elvis! She love, loved Elvis!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin & Lawana LaVelle; her 1st husband, Everette Downing, Sr.; 2nd husband, Cletus Tierney; and granddaughter, Britany Downing.
Survivors include sister, Webba Compos of Raytown, Missouri; brothers, Nelson LaVelle of Warsaw, Missouri and Eddie LaVelle of Drexel, Missouri; children, Ada Gregg of Lees Summit, Missouri, Everette & Pam Downing of Stover, Missouri, Candy Duggan of Stover, Missouri, Edwin & Caylene Tierney of Warrensburg, Missouri, Ernie Tierney of Barnett, Missouri and Patty Tierney of Stoutland, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She also has 3 step-sons; Cletus, Larry and Ronnie Tierney.

Went to high school with amber, you were like a second grandma to me growing up, then I became a CNA and took care of you, we had many laughs, tears and many talks! Rest easy granny!!!!! Keep watching over everyone??
