Harrison T. Buford

Harrison Thomas Buford, age 50, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully at the University of Kansas Medical Center on November 27, 2012, where he had fought like a warrior during an extended hospital stay. He was surrounded by his family. Harrison was born 12-31-61 in St. Louis, MO to Winston and Janice (Metzger) Buford. He grew up in Eminence, MO and later attended Westminster college in Fulton, MO and the University of Missouri-Columbia where he graduated in 1986 with a BA in Economics. He spent many years in the mortgage lendingbusiness. He was fiercely devoted to his friends and family, a die-hard MIZZOU fan, having a love for drums and rock music rivaled by none. Harrison is survived by his parents, sons and daughter-in-law Jason and Trevor (Anneke), grandson Channing, sister and brother-in-law Amy (Don) Wehmeier, brother Andrew, partner Dana Barnes, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. As Harrison wished, there will be no funeral service, but instead a celebration of his life at a later date. Special thanks to the skilled and compassionate transplant surgeons, doctors, and nurses at KUMED, including those at the RAI Dialysis Center in Westwood, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, the United Network for Organ Sharing, or the Community Blood Center.
