Helen L. Hale

Helen L. Hale, 82, Independence, MO went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2009.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17 from 10 am to 11am at the Kansas City Baptist Temple, 5460 Blue Ridge Cut-Off, Kansas City, MO.  Memorial services will immediately follow at the church beginning at 11am

Helen was born March 2nd, 1926 to Roy and Roberta Radford in Jasper County, MO.  She was a long time member of the Kansas City Baptist Temple and loved the fellowship of her Home Team as well as many other church friends.  Helen loved her family deeply and her greatest joy was getting to spend time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.  She was a cancer survivor and thanked God daily for His grace on her life.  Helen retired in 1987 from Fireman’s Fund Insurance where she was a policy typist for many years.  Helen enjoyed traveling to Europe, Hawaii, the Holy Land and all over the USA but always loved coming back home.

Helen is preceded in passing by two brothers, Clifford and Everett, a sister, Doris Mooney and her first husband Calvin Murdick.  She leaves behind three other sisters, Ann Anderson, Kathleen Meeders and Virginia Gray, her loving and devoted husband, Edwin Hale Sr., daughter Janet Whitehead, sons Kenneth Murdick and Steve Murdick, step-daughter Linda Rivera and step-son, Ed Hale Jr.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous church friends.

Her family will miss her greatly.  We thank all of Helen’s friends and acquaintances for their visits and prayers.  Donations in Helen’s honor can be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64114-9808.
