Hilda Malon

Hilda Malone, 83, Lee’s Summit, MO passed away March 11, 2011 at her home. A memorial service is planned for 7:00 PM, Friday, March 25, 2011, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 5111 Harry Truman Dr., Grandview, MO 64030. Hilda was born in Tunica, LA. She had four brothers and three sisters: Samual Gray, Jr., Lidell Gray, Jesse Gray, Frank Gray, Irene Bryant, Thelma Burgess, and Mami Williams. Hilda worked several jobs in her life but was a homemaker most of the time. She spent most of her adult life in Chicago, where she met and married John Malone in November of 1947. To this union two daughters were born, Brenda and Patricia. Hilda enjoyed family activities and socializing with friends. She liked music, loved to play bid-whist, and got a kick out of playing the dozens. Her running buddy was her sister-in-law, Mary Malone. In 2005, Hilda relocated to Lee’s Summit, MO to live with her daughter, Pat. This created a brand new relationship between them. Hilda enjoyed her new surroundings and made new friends. She especially enjoyed her vacation in Tunica. It turned out to be a great road trip! She leaves to celebrate her life 3 daughters, Brenda Randolph (Darryl) of Chicago, IL, Emily Williams of Wheaton, IL, and Pat Atwater of Lee’s Summit, MO; 2 grandchildren, La Shawn Malone of Chicago, IL, and Michael Malone of Wheaton, IL; 2 great grandchildren, Taylor and Brandon Malone of Wheaton, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
