Honey Blankenship

Honey Blankenship, 99, of Freeman, Missouri passed away July 10, 2017. Mrs. Blankenship was born July 24, 1917 in Sioux City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by; husband, James Leon Blankenship; her parents and siblings. Survivors include; daughter, Marlea Ann Struble; son, David Leon Blankenship and wife Sally; daughter, Lori Jean Blankenship; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Honey Blankenship was an amazing woman. From her birth place of Sioux City, IA; she lived in many different states until her final resting place of Harrisonville, MO. She was two weeks shy of 100 years old. During the time that Honey was growing up. She was living during events that we have only read about in history books. Honey experienced the Great Depression, both World Wars, police actions and natural disasters.

With loosing family members throughout her life, she still manage to stay strong and have fun.

She has had the love of husbands and children and has been blessed with all of the extended family from her children and grandchildren.

Honey was a hard working woman and was very smart. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles in ink, bowl, dance, play cards, smoke and drink. We who knew her can honestly say that we loved her and she will be greatly missed.

    Lori I’m sorry for your loss. I know from our talks about Mom, she was a beautiful lady. She has earned her wings! May her beautiful smile watch over you and family. Love you Lori.
