Isabelle Sowmu, 73, of Columbia passed away June 10, 2014. No services are scheduled. Isabelle was born on April 7, 1941 in India. She was an English professor at Stella Maris College in Madras, India before moving to Columbia in the 1980’s to attend graduate school at the University of Missouri. She will be remembered for her gentle and kind soul, her love of reading and literature and her beautiful conversations. Isabelle was loved by her family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Isabelle was a lovely person. I was her book delivery girl, and I definitely agree that I will miss the interesting conversations we had together.
