Jack Dean McDowell

Jack Dean McDowell, 84, Blue Springs, MO, passed away May 28, 2012. Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2012 at Maywood Baptist Church, Independence, MO. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maywood Baptist Church or God’s Mountain. Jack was born August 7, 1927 in Vernon County, MO. He graduated from Coal High School. Jack was a member of Beaumont & later Maywood Baptist Churches; he was an active member, Sunday school teacher, deacon and later honored as Deacon Emeritus. Jack was a World War II Navy Veteran.  He retired in 1988 from Sears after 30+ years. He will be remembered for his love of family and friends, sense of humor, love of carpentry and building projects. Jack was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a nephew. Survivors include: sons & daughter- in-law, Ken & Peggy McDowell, Marble Falls, AR, Dave McDowell, Blue Springs, MO; daughter & son-in-law, Lisa & Tod Umstattd, Blue Springs, MO; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
