Jacob Alan Jones, 24, of Independence, Missouri, passed away at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas on June 16, 2020.
Jacob was born on December 2, 1995 to Rodney Alan and Glenda Kay Simpson. He enjoyed video games, movies, social media and eating out. Jacob loved watching YouTube with his brother Brandon and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Rodney Alan Jones. Jacob is survived by his mother, Glenda Simpson; brothers, Brandon and Zach Jones; sister, Tasha Jones; niece, Dalyla Jones; grandparents, Millie, Ron Eugene and Jean; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family is requesting memorials in Jacob’s name to the MDA-Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Every time I visited you & your brother you both always made me smile ? You were such a sweet spirit, kind & gentle, loving & friendly ? You truly made an impact in my life and I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to meet you! Rest well Jacob! Watch over Brandon and your momma as your passing left a hole in their hearts.
You and your family have been in my prayers for God to give you all comfort. I’m so sorry this happened at such a time when family and friends cannot be close. Just have peace knowing Jacob is running free in heaven. And I am making sure Glenda and Brandon have what they need.
