James E King, 76, Independence, MO passed away June 26, 2016. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM-11:00 AM, Saturday July 2, 2016 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Big Jim was born June 25, 1940 in Los Angles, CA. He served in the US Navy on board the USS Hornet CVS12. Big Jim is preceded in death by; his wife, Marjorie and son, Vincent Shockley. Survivors include: daughter, Nona Howard; son, William Shockley; daughter, Sue Bloss; son, James A King; twenty grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
