James (Jim) Frank Johnson of Belton, MO was born in Winona, MN on June 18, 1941 and went home to be with the Lord at the age of 73 on July 12, 2014. He was married to his wife of 48 years, Margarette (Peggy) O’Neill Johnson of Belton, MO. He is survived by his three children Michelle Ann Johnson Carns (Charlie) of Greenville, MI, and Dawn Marie Johnson Threatt (Bill) of Kingwood, TX and Keith Allen Johnson (Brandilee) of Humble, TX; and eight grandchildren Hope Elizabeth Carns and Robert Wesley Carns of Greenville, MI and Alexa Nicole Fisher, Jacob Lee Fisher, Madalyn Kay Fisher, and David Jesse Threatt of Kingwood, TX, and Nicholas Andrew Peerson of Houston, TX and Gabe Conner Peerson of Odessa, MO; one brother, Paul Johnson (Sharon) and one sister, Ruth Johnson Forinash (Larry, deceased), both of Ohio; and a sister-in-law Ellen Nelson Johnson, Eau Claire, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Johnson and Elsie Betz Johnson; two brothers, Raymond Johnson and Robert Johnson.
Jim graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, WI with a bachelor degree in music education, and from the University of Colorado in Greeley, CO with a master degree in music education, and a degree in Biblical special ministries from Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, MO. He taught music for over 30 years, was a youth and assistant pastor for 10 years, and drove bus for the Lee’s Summit, MO school district for 20 years.
A beloved and Godly husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, Jim made an impact on everyone who knew him. He participated in many mission trips, charities, and ministered to those all around him. He regularly volunteered his time at the food pantry and the nursing home to bring the message of God and bring comfort and encouragement through music and ministry.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 19th at 1:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00pm at the Southland Baptist Church, 16205 Vicie Avenue in Belton, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Jim Johnson to the Southland Baptist Church Building Fund at the address listed above.

So sadden to hear of Jim’s Death and it seemed to have happen so soon, but we know that he is so happy singing with the Angels. What a wonderful Man and we are going to miss him dearly but know that we will meet again Love to you and yours from the Kimbrough’s and remembering you in Prayer
