James L. Viani

James L. Viani, 82 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully September 4, 2015 at the Foxwood Springs Alzheimer’s Care Center, Raymore, Missouri with his family at his side.  He will be remembered at a visitation at 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2015 at First Church of the Nazarene, 119th & State Line Rd, Kansas City, Missouri.  Memorial services will follow at 2:00 PM.  The family requests no flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice and Fellowship of John, Foxwood Springs in Raymore, MO.

Mr Viani was born in Kincaid, IL and has lived in Kansas City since 1958.  He was a Senior Partner of Stinson Mag Law Firm for 30 years until his retirement in 1988 and was Managing Partner of the Corporate Department for several years.  He received a BS in Accounting from Milliken University, Decatur, IL and a Doctorate of Law degree from Washington University, St Louis, MO.  He was in the Army Reserves for six years.  Jim was active in many charitable organizations and had many honors bestowed on him during his lifetime.

He loved people in every walk of life.  He leaves a wife of 56 years, Virginia; daughters, Teresa (Dennis) Agee, Diana (Chris) Larson, Deborah (Daniel) Brantley; nine grandchildren and ten great granchildren.  He was a wonderful husband and father.  He was an honorable man who loved his Lord and Savior.

    I am grateful for the life of Mr. Viani. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
