James M. Hensley

James M. Hensley, 56, Lee’s Summit, MO passed away March 5, 2013.  He was born July 20, 1956 in Kansas City, KS.  James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and fishing in his younger days.  James will be remembered for his love of his infamous scratcher tickets.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jo Hensley; father, Oral James Hensley; mother, Pearl Louise Culp; grandmother, Mildred L. Cole; and sister, Diane Wright.  He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Brandy Hensley, Gina Hensley, Manda West; sons, Travis Lytle, Danny West, Jr.; brothers, Richard Hensley, Ransom Jones, Hiram Jones, Robert Culp, Randy Culp, Cecil Culp, Jr., Donnie Jones, Ronnie Jones; sisters, Sharon Soverns, Davonna Razo, Diane Razo, Wanda Culp, Charlotte Short, Margaret James; 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on the way; and many other nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of great friends.  James will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

    Dad words can’t express how i miss you..you was a huge part of my life..i feel i lost part of me when i got that phone call to come to the hospital..i hoped to hear the best but, was totally prepared to hear the worse..(in which i did)..i want you to know the kids and i will make you proud of us..today was a hard day for me as well..i did it for you though daddy..with minimal tears in my eyes i went into the funeral and dealt with one of the hardest things i have ever had to deal with in my life..when i signed your death certificate part of me died that very moment..oh dad i don’t want to lay no worries on you..the kids and i will be fine..we will have our bad and good day’s..you will always live in our hearts..i’m just so happy to know you are with grandma and billie jo..i know they both will take care of you now..you ever need anything as always i am here..just come to me..i forever will be your baby girl..i’m strong and can manage..i love you daddy!!!..i miss you coming over and going through my fridge the most..well come by anytime..i always have enough for you!!!

    Grandpa u were like my dad u took me every weekend during the summer when I was just a little kid. I have your name and I am proud to say when I have my first son its middle name going to be James. I hope it will keep going on for years u were in my life since day one till March 5th 2013. When I found out u died I was torn into pieces like someone just ripped my heart out it was the worst feeling I have ever felt in my life. I was your grandson and I will take care of the family like u wanted me too. I am now a man like u told me when I didn’t pass my permit u said “Never give up just keep trying” I will follow that threw my life of path knowing u r ok have no pain and u r with grandma and billy jo Hensley your wife it makes me happy knowing u r watching over everyone. I know u r my new guarding angle making sure I am ok I will get a job like u wanted me too. the things I will do for u is to make u proud and u wanted me to do…
    1.graduate from high school
    2.get my permit
    3.get a football or wrestling scholar ship
    4.make good grades
    and most of all
    5. take care of OUR family

    I going to miss you James a lot. You helped with so many things and the talk we had. I never forget you and the one thing went sstraight to my heart and stuck to it. You taught me how to drive that changed my life open more I can do for me and my kids. You had such a kind heart man you always listen and helped when you could. You were like my dad to me and a grandmpa to my kids and a husband to my mom. Even if you to did not get married in your heart you were and you have a great love ans special time with my mom. Thanks for being there for us and coiming to dinner and lunch and my kids birthday and just hang out with us. I will miss are times togther. God bless you james and god bless everyone .

    dear grandpa, I want you to know that we all miss you. I remember that you always brought me my magazines when they came in the mail all the time. and I know that you are now our angel above us and we all love you. just knowing that you cared for us made me really happy bc we care for you to. and when no one was here you always were here for me helping me. just know that grandma was very proud of you. and I just want to make you proud someday even though your gone I still have all those beautiful memories that we had together.

    I will never forget the time we spent together and with my kids and your kids. a will always remember sleeping on Gina’s sofa sleeper with the twins between us. You are and were a great friend to me. You knew me better than most people. I have and always will love your daughters and their children…RIP, my friend. I will miss our little talks and laughs….

    When I was a kid we called James “Jimmy” and he was such a cool guy. He was always so funny and made me laugh every time I saw him. I remember him as one of the nicest guys in the family. He will be missed.
