James Victor Jewsome

James Victor Jewsome, age 70, born June 5, 1953 transitioned into eternity on June 5, 2023 at the Kansas City VA Hospital. James is preceded in death by his father, James Jewsome and his mother, Peggy Dorothile Carter.

James or Victor as many called him, was married to Sheryl Bernice Wright on June 24, 1973. Out of that union, they bore four children, Shaniece Garlington (Azondie), Steven Jewsome, Shanelle Brown (Brandon), and Samuel Jewsome (Katherine). James had ten brothers, seven sisters, fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

James served in the United States Navy from March 13, 1972-March 14, 1978. He was stationed in Greece and Charleston, South Carolina where he worked as a Signalman. While in the Navy, he received the National Defense Service Medal.

James was a very gifted singer and enjoyed all types of music and artists from Stevie Wonder to Walter Hawkins and Andrae Crouch. He enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Titans with his son and son-in-laws. James also enjoyed cartoons, westerns, playing cards, dancing and driving.

The last years of his life were a true testimony of his faith. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he transitioned to be with the Lord. He will be truly missed by all of his family and friends.
