Jane M. “Tee Tee” Ebben, age 67 of Columbia, MO died unexpectedly on
Tuesday, September 13, 2022, with her daughter Kessa by her side. She was born
on June 29, 1955 in Neenah, Wisconsin to the late Robert and Margaret
(Sensenbrenner) Williams. She was #3 in our family of 7. Jane married her high
school sweetheart and took off to explore the west coast, living in Washington for
10 years before moving back to settle in Minnesota where they had their
Jane loved horses and went to school to become a Veterinary Technician. She
began her career at the University of Minnesota, where she helped start the
Neonatal Foal Unit. Six years later, she moved to Missouri and worked the next
35 years at the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center, where she retired
in July 2021. She was passionate about the horses she cared for and always
showed compassion not only to the horses, but also the owners. When there was
a loss of a beloved horse, Jane would give the family a braided section of the tail
as a keepsake. She was a great mentor to both her colleagues and students.
For anyone that was blessed to have known Jane, they know she was a special gift
in their life. When she was growing up, she often took charge of the household,
making dinners or getting the younger kids to bed at night. In later years, Jane
continued to be a caretaker and would be the first to go stay with her siblings
when they needed care. When family would visit her, or she would come back to Wisconsin, she’d be the one planning and cooking the meals, enjoying every
moment of time with family. Jane always said, “there’s one vacation I prioritize
every year and that’s coming home to be with my family”. She hoped one day to
move back to Wisconsin and live in “her house” on her sister’s lake.
Jane loved deeply, with her whole heart, always putting others before herself.
Her sense of humor was infectious, and she could always make you laugh. She
loved her animals and welcomed many rescues throughout the years. Jane
enjoyed taking all the dogs on the trail close by her house and gave each of them
the best life.
Jane leaves behind her daughter Kessa (Michael) and grandsons Jeremiah and
Malachi; sisters: Anne (Bob), Mary and sister-in-law, Lynne; brothers: Chuck
(Becky), Jim (Deb), and Bob (Lori); and beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and
nephews and her devoted pups.
She is preceded in death and was greeted in Heaven by her mother Margaret
(Toots), father Robert (Bud), brother John, and all of her beloved animals.
Jane will be deeply missed by her many friends and family alike, especially her
dear friend, Nellie. There will be a celebration of her life. Details TBD.
