Jean Hogge

Jean W. (Buehne) Hogge, 75, passed away 9/15/08 at St. Luke’s Hospital-Plaza, KC, MO from lung cancer.  Graveside services will be held at 1:15PM, Friday, September 19, 2008 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.  Visitation will be held from 6-9PM, September 18, 2008 at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois, Afton, MO.  Mrs. Hogge was born 9/30/32 in Lemay, MO.  She was the third of four daughters of John and Clara Buehne.  She graduated from Hancock High School and lived the majority of her life in South St. Louis.  She married her first husband, Ray Zavadil and had a set of twins, Deborah(Stan) Graham and Dianna(Stephe) Nichols.  In 1965, she married Dewey Hogge and had Dawn(Bryan) Adams, MD.  She was also fortunate to have three additional daughters from Dewey’s first marriage, Shirley(Loran) Maloney, Gail Ashby, and Barbara Brewington.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Clare and daught er Dianna.  Survivors include her five daughters, ten grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and sisters, Ann and Donna.  She enjoyed travel, being Queen Bee of her Red Hat group, and cross-stitching.  She will be sadly missed for her guidance,devotion and love for her family and her companionship for her friends.  Memorial contributions should be made to the Susan Komen Foundation in lieu of flowers.  Arrangements made by Heartland Cremation, Raytown, MO.
