Jeffrey Claude O’Hara

Jeffrey Claude O’Hara “Jeff”, 78, of Parkville, MO passed away December 30, 2023.

Jeff was born July 17, 1945 in Raytown, MO. He was born and raised in KCMO, and grew up in Raytown with his family (parents Guy and Evelyn, younger siblings Kathy and Mark and older half-sister Sherryl). He loved to explore Raytown and was a tinkerer who enjoyed all things mechanical. As a young adult he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. After the Air Force, Jeff returned to Missouri, went to college, started a business with his brother, and then eventually a business of his own.

In Kansas City, he met his future wife, Kathy, in the late 1970s and soon after Jeff became a proud father to his son Morgan and daughter Maggie. Jeff was a man/brother/father/friend of many talents. He could fix & create anything. He loved recording every important moment of his family’s lives on VHS and 35mm camera. He was actively involved in Scouts and will forever be Big Gray Beaver Keeper of the Wigwam in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. A loving and devoted father, he enjoyed taking his kids to explore the country over the years on long summer road trips to see family in California and Colorado. And naturally, he was an avid Chiefs & Royals fan.

In 2007 he became a proud grandfather to his grandchild Atlas and would visit Wisconsin to see them when he could.

We are all so proud and grateful that you are now a part of us, and us a part of your legacy. We love you very much, Dude, and we will miss you forever – You beautiful soul. Please say high to Grandma & Grandpa, Uncle Mark, Ron, Lisa & Stan for all of us.

Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Guy O’Hara and mother, Evelyn O’Hara; brother Mark and half-brother Roger. and sister, Sherryl. Also, his loving pets, Punky, Midnight, Buddy and Bob.

He is survived by a long list of people who loved him to the fullest, including, but not limited to, his sister, Kathy Messner (John), Matt (nephew) and Katey (niece); half-sister, Joyce Lee; son, Morgan O’Hara (Nina); daughter, Maggie O’Hara; grandchild, Atlas O’Hara; niece, Megan O’Hara; and extensive family across the country.

thinking of you, sweet and silly Uncle Jeff. Miss your goofy grin and i listen to the voicemail I still have from you, sometimes. I know you are with those you have missed and loved so dearly, protecting and guiding Maggie and Morgan, Kathy, and you are free. We love you so!
