Jerald “Jerry” L. Golden

Jerald “Jerry” L. Golden, 57, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2026, at the family home. Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories of Jerry.

Jerry will be remembered for his passionate conversations about his beloved Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball. Every football Saturday brought lively debates over football about whether Nebraska or Georgia had the better program. Beyond sports, Jerry had a deep love for music. He enjoyed playing the drums and guitar and listening to his favorite bands loudly, just the way he liked it. Jerry was employed at Westlake Ace Hardware, where he shared his passion for grilling, smoking, and outdoor cooking.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia J. Golden; son, Jordan A. Golden; step-sons, John (J.) Lea and Jessie A. Lea; brother, Bob Capps; and sisters, Jacki Buckalew and Anne Reutzel.

Jerry’s humor, enthusiasm, music, and unwavering love of sports will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
