Gerald “Jerry” Harold Johnson, 66, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at home surrounded by his family in Montgomery City, Missouri.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society in Columbia, Missouri.
Born December 31, 1950, in Poplar Bluff, MO, Gerald was the son of the late Bonnie Raney and the late Floyd Johnson, step son to the late Author Raney.

On October 25, 2003 he married Emma (Deal) Johnson who survives of the home. He lived in Montgomery County since 2003 and retired in 2011. He loved spending time with his family, extended family, dogs, and caring for the place they lived.

In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by his son Jeremy Johnson and wife Jessica and Grandsons Isaac, Duke Gerald, and Ezekiel of Foley, MO; daughter, Crystal Johnson with grandkids, Corey, Emily and Landyn of Warrenton, MO; daughter, Cherie Hiatt and husband Andrew with grandkids, Quinn and Grandbaby due in 2018; sister, Joy Raney and her family; Brother, Tim Raney and his family; and several nieces and nephews. The late Dale Johnson and his family.

A Celebration of life will be planned at the home of Emma and Gerald Johnson pending weather.

    Emma I would like to send you my Condolence of the lost of Gerald, My Name is Carolyn and I was Gerald’s 1st wife. Gerald and I had 2 children together Gerald Harold II and Candy sue. after Candy passed Gerald and I lost contact with each other. But from what I saw in your video it looks like Gerald was a happy man and he looked the same as he did when we were teens. Again I just want to say I’m sorry for your family loss.
