Jerry “Woody” Woodward Price of Liberty, MO passed away on September 25th, 2020 at the age of 70.

Jerry was born August 28th, 1950 in Ottawa, KS. He graduated Oak Park Highschool in Kansas City, MO; class of 1968. In 1969 he joined the United States Marine Corp and served until 1973, with honorable discharge. He was a proud Ford Auto Assembly Worker of over 30 years as well as UAW Local 249 member.

He had a great interest in photography and SCUBA diving and loved to travel. He also enjoyed supporting the Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas City Royals and his World Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jerry will be loved and missed by his surviving daughter, Jaime Renee Price; brothers Jack and James Price and sister Linda Martin, along with many nephews, nieces and cousins. He is predeceased by his father James Polk Price, mother Joan Elizabeth Harp Price, brother William “Bill” Joe Price and niece Debra Lavone Price.

At Jerry’s request, no services will be held. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Condolences may be sent to 14750 Maple Drive, Amarillo, TX 79119. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry’s honor to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter in Ottawa, KS.

    It was a pleasure knowing Jerry. I loved his quiet nature. A man of few words yet made such an impression on those in his presence. He will be missed greatly.

    Hello, I just came across this today.
    If this is the Woody Price that I knew in Ottawa Junior High and High School, for a great many of those years, he was my best friend. I was his substitute Ottawa Herald paper carrier for part of the north side of Ottawa. We were in Boy Scout Troup 72 for a number of years. He was Patrol Leader and I was Assistant Patrol Leader.
    We last saw each other in early August, 1967, as he and his family had moved to the KC area in 1965. He drove down to Ottawa and stopped by my house. My cousins, my brother, Woody, and I all went swimming at what was then Ottawa’s brand new municipal swimming pool. I am seventy now myself, with stage 4 stomach cancer, and find my self looking back over my life.
    He was a tremendous influence. I looked up to him greatly. He was always kind and understanding with me. Class of 1969.
