Jewell Elaine Butler

Jewell Elaine Butler died peacefully from a long illness at The Neighborhood in Columbia, MO on May 6th, 2015.
She was born to Ralph and Marguerite Midyett in St Joseph, MO on March 21, 1923,
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother of California, her husband Charles Deming of Tucson and a second husband Jim also from Tucson and one grandson Michael of Columbia.
She is survived by her two children, Charles Deming and wife Jerri and Janet Farris and husband Bill, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She worked 18 years at the University of Missouri where she retired and moved to Tucson,  Much dancing was done out there as she had done all her life.  She was always a fun loving person and she and her first husband were Arthur Murray dance instructors.  She continued not only ballroom dancing, but square dancing, where she made many of their dance outfits.
An avid animal lover she always had many dogs, cats and horses.
She loved to cook and her family enjoyed many wonderful meals and good times together.
Traveling was also one of her pleasures and she traveled all over the U.S. and some foreign countries.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who never failed to find humor n life.  She always had a smile for those around her.
She was a joy in our lives and others.  The family would like to thank all her wonderful caregivers, whom without them her last weeks and days would not have been so peaceful.  Thank you for all the love and care you gave.
After cremation there will be a family graveside service.

    So sorry about your Mother. I did visit her in Ashland on her birthday. She didn’t remember me or Bethel Ridge. We talked about her dancing and Arizona. I read all of her birthday cards to her.
