Jimmy Smith

James Cernyn Smith, 53, of Fulton entered into eternal rest Tuesday September 29, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Sir Winston Restaurant in the Churchill Banquet Room. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Jimmy was born May 11, 1956 to Chester and Eileen (Brady) Smith. He was a member of the Roofers Union Local 20 and had been employed by Watkins Roofing for the last 13 years. Jimmy loved being at the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends, as well as spending time with his granddaughter, Michelle. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Blakey Smith; his mother, Eileen Brady Smith; sons, James C. Smith Jr. (JC) and his wife Lindsey, Josh P. Smith and Jacob C. Smith all of Virginia, Aaron Martin and David and Danielle Blakey of Fulton; and one granddaughter, Michelle L. Blakey, also of Fulton, one brother, Gerard P. Smith and his wife Diane of Florida; three sisters, Cathy Gustafson and her husband Tom of Fulton, Maryellen Yost and her husband Greg of Texas, Ann Paolasini and her husband Ron of Illinois as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, two brothers, William Smith and Chester Smith, Jr. as well as one son Jarred Blakey. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or Missouri River Hospice.
