JoAnne McNeil Saunders, 84, of Kansas City, Missouri died May 4, 2017 at the Healthcare Resort of Kansas. A memorial service will be held at Wexford Place, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00PM. Mrs. Saunders was born to Leon and Virginia (Comerford) McNeil on December 13, 1932 in Endicott, New York.
JoAnne grew up in Philadelphia and was the oldest of eleven children. She graduated from John Bartram High School in Philadelphia in 1950. JoAnne worked for Park University and served as the Director of Metro Park Programs before she retired.
She is preceded in death by her parents and some of her siblings.
Survivors include her children; Donna Lee Campbell, David Norman Saunders, Mark Perry Saunders, and Gregg Loren Saunders, grandchildren; Katie Campbell, Zach Campbell, and Brent Saunders, 6 sisters, 2 brothers, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Saunders was a joy to be around . As a Park College student
she gave us responsibilities that helped us grow .
Through JoAnne’s genius in understanding how to construct financial aid packages, she made a great and lasting contribution to my life and those of many others! Park was made Park by how she built the student body.
All of her dear family became friends. What good folks they all are. My heart is with you in the loss of your mother, but she will be there to meet you when it is your time to go home. Not yet!!
