John B. Montgomery, Jr.

John B. Montgomery, Jr., 65, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on March 24, 2021.

John was born December 31, 1955 in Topeka, Kansas. In his early adult life John was a hearing aid specialist who enjoyed improving the hearing and lives of his patients. He had a life-long love for fishing which led him to a full career as a fishing guide on Beaver Lake.

He was passionate about music, especially that of the late Jimi Hendrix, and is sure to be jamming out in heaven. John had a wonderful sense of humor, and frequently had those around him in stiches. His quick wit and ready smile drew people in  easily. Drawing, playing the guitar, and coin collection were a few of his many hobbies, which he loved to share with others.

John loved profoundly and was deeply loved in return.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Darlyne Behee Montgomery, and his sister, Cynthia L. Montgomery Bell.

He is survived by his father John B. Montgomery, Sr., his daughters Calli (Eric) Sandon and Tia (Nicholas) Barriger, as will as five grandchildren and one niece.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Jimi Hendrix Foundation which works to improve the quality of life for children and to inspire and encourage creativity in  music, arts and sciences.
