John Duane Facklam

Duane Facklam, 63, Raytown, MO passed away Nov. 3, 2013, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City. Funeral services will be held 11 Am, Thursday Nov. 7, 2013 at Missouri Funeral Care, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Mo 64133. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 AM. A military graveside service will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Duane was born Feb. 2, 1950 in Emporia, KS to John Herbert and Wilma (Hinderliter) Facklam. Duane graduated from Emporia High School in 1968. He served his country during Vietnam as a member of the US Navy, and was a lifetime member of the VFW and was currently the Commander of VFW Post 1829. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for more than 40 years. He was a shriner and a member of The DAV. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David.  He is survived by his wife Marilyn, children; Gregg (Tara) Eichorn, Tracy (Jimmy) Caulfield, and Jessica Facklam, grandchildren; Skyler Caulfield and Katelyn Eichorn, sisters; Barbara L. Crawford and Jeanette Burris, a brother Dean Facklam and numerous nieces, nephews and a large and loving extended family. Memorial contributions may be made to a family member, for his grandchildrens’ education or the VFW National Home for Children, 3573 S. Waverly Road, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827.
