John (“Jack”, “J.J.”) J. Campbell, 54, Kansas City, MO, passed away February 28, 2005, at his home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 5 at Gashland Baptist Church, 601 NE Barry Rd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. John was born July 20, 1950, in Valentine, NE. He moved to Kansas City after his military service. He served two terms in Vietnam as a Sergeant on the 121st Assault Helicopter Company from 1968-1971. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Burl Rex and Virginia Lucille. John is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cheryl Kay Campbell, of the home; sons James S. and Richard D., both of Kansas City, MO; daughter-in-law Heather; granddaughters Samantha Paige and Jennifer Dawn (soon to arrive in June); brothers Patrick, Daniel, Michael, and William Campbell; sisters Donna Merrick and Robin Knowles; and many nieces and nephews and close friends.
