John Stanley Haas, Jr., 76, of Clinton, Missouri passed away May 02, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 08, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, Missouri 64133. Military honors will begin at 5:00pm.
John was a photographer in the Army and enjoyed his time in Germany. He truly had an eye for photography and continued photography throughout his life. Upon returning home from Germany he purchased the bar Funky’s in Knobtown, Missouri. He always had an entrepreneurial spirit and owned several businesses in his life. He’s probably most well known for his love of raising and training racehorses and he spent many years at tracks all across the Midwest. He was also a very fine carpenter and spent the last 25 years in carpentry and remodeling commercial buildings. John loved hunting and fishing and later retired at his lake house in Clinton, Missouri.
Survivors include his brother Phil Haas and sister Anne Fischbach both of Missouri, his daughter Diane, his daughter Rebeca Hazaleus, husband Jeff and children Carter and Shaelynn – all of Durant, OK, and many cherished friends from years past from all over the country.
In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions in John’s honor to 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO 64133.
