Johnny Jones

Johnny Jones, of Gladstone, Mo., was born in Baytown, Texas, on October 7, 1955, the first born son of Doris J. Jones (McAdams) and Johnny C. Jones Sr. (Deceased). He is survived by his sister, Rhonda J. Bland, KCMO; two brothers, Clyde L. Jones, Richmond, Mo., and Dusty L. Jones of Cameron, Mo. He was preceded in death by his sister Donna K. Nickell. He married Deborah S. Decker in April of 1982. He has two children by previous marriages. Johnny and Deborah have two sons, David E. Jones of Gladstone, Derrick W. Jones of KCMO, a stepson, Alexander J. Phillips of Gladstone, also six grandchildren and 22 nieces and nephews. Having his family close made him comfortable. He also leaves many friends. He was a member of the Teamster Union and drove for Riverside Transport. Johnny Jones Jr. was a great friend, father and husband and will be missed and loved greatly. There will be a visitation at 10 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, Mo., on October 7, 2006, with funeral services to be held at 11 a.m. on the same day. Memorials may be made to MDA Research, care of the University of Kansas Medical Center.
