Joseph H. Wigle

Joseph Wigle, 91, Overland Park, KS, passed away October 3, 2012 at his home. Joseph worked for General Motors in skilled trades at the Fairfax plant for 30 years and was known there as “The Bird”.  He headed south to enjoy retirement in Englewood, Florida, with his wife Elvira (“Vi”). Joe and Vi spent 22 years in sunny Florida and returned to Kansas City to spend time with their family.  Joe was a good husband, good father, good millwright, loyal Chiefs fan (A Red Coater) and was good with his trademark “Hee, Hee!’”  Joe, you will be missed.  Elvira preceded Joe in death after 62 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter Mary (“Mandie”) Niday and her husband Kerry, of Lenexa, KS; his son Steve Wigle and his wife Geri, of Olathe, KS; his granddaughter Tori Wigle, Los Angeles, CA; his brother Nathan of Newark, Ohio. May you rest with mom and enjoy Heaven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Joe’s name to Hospice care, 15329 W. 95th St., Lenexa, KS 66219. A very, very special thanks to Julie Baldwin, for helping make our fathers passing peaceful.
