Joyce Burlingame Milford

Joyce Burlingame Milford, born 2/28/49, beloved wife of Robert Milford, loyal mother to Christian and Sarah, and grandmother to Joshua, left this earth peacefully at her home on Monday, Feb. 27, 2006. She is also survived by her parents, James and Myrtle Bond, brother Dewey and his wife Karen, sister Joan, half-sister Sharon, and son-in-law Korey. Services will be held at 5 pm on Wednesday, March 1st at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64133 (816-313-1677). After the service, family and friends are invited to a reception at Joyce’s home. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations to Heifer International (www.heifer.org, 800-422-0474), which battles world hunger and hopelessness through self-sustainable gifts of livestock. Joyce was a life-long resident of the Kansas City area. Her strong connections to the community were evidenced by devoted care for all living things. Joyce rehabilitated orphaned and injured wildlife through the Swope Park Nature Center. She also gave 20+ years of service to youth care at Crittenton Children’s Center. She will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she changed forever.
