Joyce Whitney, 87, Independence, passed away February 21, 2008. Joyce is survived by her son Craig Whitney and his wife Debbie Twyman, daughter Desdra Dawning, Phoenix, Ariz., granddaughters, Ginny Burke, Jill Hatch, Debbie Combs and Autumn West, grandson Matthew Whitney and 10 great grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Farmington, N.M. A memorial will be held in Farmington at a later date.
