Juanita Elizabeth Cowan

Juanita Elizabeth Cowan passed away from pneumonia on March 17, 2022.

She was born on June 3, 1944 in Pettigrew, Arkansas to William and Myrtle Cowan. Juanita was a 1962 graduate of Fort Osage High School.

Juanita loved dogs, clothes, shoes, holiday attire, Royals, Chiefs, Bingo, sewing, knitting, painting classes, family and fried shrimp!? When her sisters were young, she often treated them to sleepovers, movies, carnivals, sweets and even coffee…..(don’t tell mom). In recent years, Juanita felt very fortunate to have the presence and support of her devoted family as she navigated through some difficult times. Juanita was a spirited soul, with a penchant for drama. For these traits and more, she will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by two sisters, Linda Cowan (Stan) and Phyllis Grayson (Greg); a brother, Don Cowan (Mary), and many nieces and nephews.

Juanita will be lovingly commemorated by family in private.

Prayers and love to all. I had the pleasure of seeing Juanita as a teenager when we had family reunions in AR. It was good to see all my cousins and Aunt Myrtle, I don’t remember Tell. Juanita was sweet and friendly, just like all the Cowan family.
