Judith “Judy” Kay Jenkins, 81, of Jefferson City, MO, passed away on Friday, November 8th, 2024, at Villa Marie surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 21st, 1943, in Mexico, Missouri, to the late Edward and Mildred (Smith) Paschal.
She was united in marriage on July 23rd, 1960, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Folk, MO to Charles “Charlie” William Jenkins.
She retired as a supervisor from Scholastic, Inc. where she was employed for over 35 years. She enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone, coffee, road trips in the fall to look at the beautiful changing colors, and random trips to Cracker Barrel. She enjoyed listening to music and was an avid Elvis fan. She was strong in her faith. Most importantly, she loved her family with all her heart and her beloved cat,
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charlie; two daughters, Charlotte (Roger) Frevert of Jefferson City and Cindy (Artie) Buschjost of St. Thomas; one son, Darrel Jenkins of Jefferson City; 6 grandchildren, Ryan (Kelley) Buschjost, Ashley (Jon) Kempker, Tyler (Cynthia) Frevert, Gavin (Hannah) Frevert, Jordan (Alex) Zanca and Cody Jenkins; 6 great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Audrey and Brody Buschjost, Benton and Harrison Kempker, and Jeremy Frevert; two sisters Betty Herzing and Darlene Gillmore Henson; one brother, Ed (Elaine)Paschal; two sister-in laws Rita Sapp and Evelyn Brenneke; one brother-in-law Louis Herzing Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sue Herzing; brothers in-law, Ray Herzing, Vernon Jenkins and Larry Jenkins as well as sister-in-law
A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
To honor Judy, go do something fun with someone you love.
Mrs. Jenkins was one our neighborhood mommas on Old St. Louis Road. I pray she is at peace and resting in Jesus arms. My condolences to Charlotte, Cindy and Darrel and families during this difficult time. Peggy Baker Thoenen
