Judith “Judy” Lee Lesh

Judith “Judy” Lee Lesh of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Centerpoint Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on September 8, 1938, to Monica and Wilbur Blaco. Judy graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1956. On September 12, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart, David Lesh, and they remained devoted companions until his passing on January 19, 2014. Together, they raised three children.

Judy dedicated her life to helping others. She supported her husband as the bookkeeper for his plumbing business from 1960 to 2004. From 1964 to 1985, she lovingly cared for foster babies. She was an active member of the RLDS Church and contributed her time to Habitat for Humanity. Judy and David shared a passion for travel and visited all 50 states, creating cherished memories along the way.

She is survived by her daughter, Debi, and her husband, Kent; granddaughter, Mary Gonzalez, and her husband, Victor; grandson, Samuel Krause; and three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Victor, and Leo Gonzalez. She is also survived by her son, Geary Lesh, and his wife, Gina; grandsons Gage and Mason Lesh and Michael Riddle; granddaughter Sara Pernice and her husband, Mike; and three great-granddaughters, Alice, Lillian, and Emilia Pernice. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Tim Blaco, and his wife, Kim.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, David; daughter, Mary Ann Lesh; sister, Sue Johnson; parents; and several sisters and brothers-in-law.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor at Liberty Street Community of Christ Church in Independence, Missouri, on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a random act of kindness is encouraged in her memory.

    Judy was a wonderful grandmother, and great grandmother to our three kids. They adored her and loved to go to her house. She will be truly missed.
