Julian “Bubba” McCormick

Julian “Bubba” McCormick, 62, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 19, 2012 at the VFW Post #280 in Columbia.  Bubba was born in Jacksonville, Florida on June 25, 1949.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence McCormick & Bonnie Jackson and his sister, Dee Grafton.  Bubba was a decorated Vietnam War veteran who served in the US Army from 1967-1969.  He enjoyed reading, watching movies, helping out with groups at the DRD clinic and in his later years, spending time with his granddaughter Vinae, who always put a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eye!  Bubba was known as Papa not only to his grandchildren, but to many other family friends who enjoyed spending time with him out on the tire swing, at the park and taking nature walks.  Bubba is survived by sisters Kim Collins of Independence, MO, and Suzie Riggin of Tucson, AZ, brothers Will Jackson of Dallas, TX and Brian Jackson of Independence, MO, his daughters, Natalie Stillman-McGee of Gillette, WY and Bonnie Lee of Kansas City, MO, as well as grandchildren, Vinae Stillman, Carter Lee and Levic McGee.
