Karen L. Starner

Karen L. Starner, 55, of Greenwood, Missouri, passed away June 7th, at 4:10 p.m. at home after months of battling respiratory issues. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Fairmount Christian Church in Independence, Missouri on Saturday, June 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Karen was born January 23rd, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri. She is survived by her parents, Pat and Gloria Starner, daughter Amanda Starner and partner Jacob Hayden, daughter Lisa Brown and fiancé Vince Totta, son Michael Brown and wife Danielle, sister Terri Starner-Crouch and husband David, sister, Christine Lahm and husband Fred, as well as nine grandchildren (Dominick, Daniel, Sylar, Ryleigh, Scarlett, Victory, Brooklyn, Aurora, and Ainsley), two nieces (Rachel and Emily) and a nephew (Charlie), and an extended family comprised of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her hobbies and interests included a love of classic rock music, with a special appreciation for Hanson, and collecting all-things dolphin. She was happiest when gathering with family and friends.

We entrust her soul to the Lord and will always carry her memory in our hearts.

    I’m so sorry for your loss!! So many fond memories that I will cherish forever. My prayers go out to all the family. She will be so missed. She was “mama” to so many of us, and I will forever be thankful to have had her in my life!
