Katherine Jean “Kay” Elkins Pitts, 87, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on January 23, 2016, at Kansas City Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Armour Oaks Sr. Living Community’s chapel, 8100 Wornall Rd. Kansas City, MO 64114.
Kay was born in Jenkins, KY on December 23, 1928, to Hibbert and Virgie Elkins. She was one of seven children.
Kay is survived by her children, Glenna Pace (Roy) of Saluda, VA, Danny Whittaker (Dianne) of Marietta, GA, Mike Anders (Kim) of Jonesborough, TN and Monica Ellison (George Olivas) of Leawood, KS, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
