Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Kathryn Sallaz, 83 of Independence, passed away on February 7, 2024, in assisted living. She was born on November 24, 1940, to parents Ryland and Frances (Yates) Miller as the 8th of nine children.
Throughout her life, Kathy wore many hats. From her days as a waitress, where she served up more than just food—she served up laughter and kindness—to her time spent cleaning houses, where she made every space feel like a home, she touched the lives of countless people with her generosity and warmth. Along with her family and friends, she loved music, animals, and collecting knick-knacks.
Kathy had a knack for finding joy in even the most mundane of moments. Whether she was sharing stories from her past, cracking jokes with her friends, or breaking out into spontaneous dance, she had a way of spreading happiness wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her husband, nephew Stephen, and all her siblings. Kathy is survived by her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
She will always be loved and missed.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 15, 2024 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO 64133. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00am.
I wish someone had contacted me mom, to let me know, so I could have been there for your funeral. I think of you every day, just like I have for so many years. The wonderful things that you instilled in me will live on inside me forever. At least now no one can keep you away from me ever again. My boys and I had our own special
memorial. Ben is an officer in the Army now mom, you would be so proud. And Nathan is getting married soon. Your daughter Susan has two grandkids! Thank you for all you did for me. I will miss you and the relationship we could have had. I love you mom, always have and always will.
So sorry to hear of Kathy Passing . She and my mom with a group of great friends waited tables together for years. Amy I am sorry for your loss and missing your mom . God Bless the family
