Keet Seigfreid

Keet Seigfreid, 64, Lee’s Summit, Mo., passed away December 30, 2008, at his home and surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Our Lady of the Presentation, 100 S.W. Murray, Lee’s Summit, Mo. Family will greet friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church. Mr. Seigfreid was born on August 15, 1944, in Detroit, Mich. He graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1963 and later attended UMKC. Keet was a member of two popular local bands, The Disciples, and The Crescendos, and later became a DJ in the Kansas City area, going by the name "Krazy Keet." Keet was a member of the Lee’s Summit Jaycees; he served as a past president of the Jackson County Fair board, was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rite, and he was a founding member of the Lee’s Summit Elks. Keet was an avid Chiefs fan and enjoyed cheering on the Missouri Tigers and the Kansas City Royals. Keet worked as a mortgage banker for Commerce Bank, as a supervisor with Branick Construction, and Kriesel Construction, and was currently employed by Apollo Products, where he served as vice president, traveled internationally and often MC’ed conventions. Keet was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Virginia Seigfreid, and a brother, Don Seigfreid. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Gail (Casebier) Seigfreid of the home, a son, Christopher Eric Seigfreid of Louisville, Ky., his wife Heather Dawn Seigfreid and their daughter Anabella Constance Seigfreid. Also surviving Keet is a brother, Douglas of Detroit, Mich. Keet enjoyed raising tomatoes in the summer for his chili sauce, he loved to Bar-B-Q and was a wonderful cook; he loved the company of his dog, Chivas, he enjoyed darts, pool, and dressing like Santa and spreading cheer. Keet will always be in our hearts, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.
