Kelse I. Dawes

Kelse Ivan Dawes, 44, of Independence, Mo passed away April 10, 2017 at his home. A celebration of Kelse’s life will be held at a later date.
He deeply loved his wife, Jessica and daughter Kalyn and tried to show that everyday. He and Jessica celebrated their 20th anniversary in January. His greatest joy has been watching his daughter grow up, teaching her how to work on cars, how to drive and all about R/C cars. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing cards, fishing, going for long drives in the country and R/C car racing at Fastlane R/C Raceway in Blue Springs. He loved bonfires, BBQ’s, country music and singing off-key… Loudly.
He was preceded in death by 3 very special men that impacted him at different stages of his life. His grandpa Dawes, Uncle Don and his Father-in-law Bob Baker.
The family the he leaves behind includes: his wife, Jessica and daughter Kalyn, his mother Judy Dawes, Father David Dawes, 3 sisters; Dawn Hall, Yvette Dawes and Monica Dawes, a half-brother Chance Dawes. His mother-in-law, Sandy Baker and sister-in-laws Angela, April. Jennifer and Rebecca. Many nieces, nephews and extended family. As well as lots of friends that he considered his brothers.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made at gofundme.com for Jessica and Kalyn to assist with final expenses and future support of their daughter.
Kelse, we will miss you! You touched many lives!

Casting Crowns: “Praise You In The Storm”
I was sure by now, God you would have reached down
And wiped our tears away,
Stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
That it’s still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear your whisper through the rain
I’m with you
And as your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
The God who gives and takes away
And I’ll praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
That you are who you are
No matter where I am
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm!

Psalms 121:1-2
1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills,
from where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

Kelse, you have left us far too early my friend. I am grateful to have become friends with your wonderful daughter Kaylen, and I know how proud of her you are. For the family, it is hard to find the right words in these difficult times. Remember the good times and know that you will always have him in your heart.
