Kerry Pittman

If you’re a stranger reading this, that just means you never had the good fortune of meeting (or sitting next to, or standing in line with, or sharing a space with) Kerry Pittman. He never met a stranger and loved discussing anything and everything with anyone around him. And because of his affable nature and gift for gab – people loved talking to him as well. He leaves a legacy of love and laughter.
Above all else, Kerry was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was married for 56 years to his wife and best friend Ruby. For those closest to Kerry, we can all still here him declaring loudly, “Ruby…Honestly!!”. They were inseparable and together raised a son, Jeffrey, and a daughter, Jennifer.
Kerry was very doting father to Jeff and Jennifer, as well as a very proud grandfather to Jeff’s daughter Heather and Jennifer’s sons Michael and Christopher. A few years ago, he was able to add great-grandfather to his title when Michael’s son Casen joined the family.
Boy scouts, dance recitals and school functions were high priorities for Kerry as he and Ruby raised their family. Kerry made sure he was present and involved in both Jeff and Jennifer’s activities. He achieved the rank of honorary warrior in the tribe of Mic-o-say.
Kerry and Ruby partnered together to strut their square-dancing skills as part of Silver Dollar Squares. They were also part of the Dear Valley Campground community at the Lake of the Ozarks, spending as many weekends as they could at the lake – enjoying time with friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity. And in honor of Kerry’s legacy, please take extra time to hug the people you love and make new friends…even if only for the few minutes you stand in line. It’s the Kerry thing to do!!
