Lafonsa Hamilton, born in Kansas City, KS on September 25, 1930 passed away, June 13, 2006. Memorial service, 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 21st at Second Baptist Church, 24th and Ruby. Mr. Hamilton attended school at Lincoln Elementary, Northeast Junior and Senior High. Mr. Hamilton retired from the military after serving more than 20 years. While in the military he had a storied career with many opportunities in Europe, Japan, Korea, Hawaii and Vietnam. His family traveled on some trips (with the birth of two children) in Europe. Mr. Hamilton was a business owner for a number of years. His parents precede him in death. He leaves to mourn his wife of over 47 years, Willie B. Hamilton; two daughters, Trudy Young (Garland) and Schanina HamiltonGills (Vernon); three sons, Jack J. Hamilton (Beth), John A. Hamilton and Anthony K. Hamilton (Melissa); two adopted grandsons, Lafonsa D. Hamilton and Christopher J. Hamilton and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and friends.
