Larue Hafoka

Larue (Clegg) Hafoka was born on April 14, 1948 to Samuel and Caroline Clegg in Price, UT. Larue was blessed to be part of a big family. She was one of twelve siblings. She spent most of her life in Utah where she met and married Selemaia Hafoka on September 22, 1973. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. She loved all 8 of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them and spoiling them when she could. She also loved all 8 of her children so much and sacrificed a lot to give them what they needed. Larue loved to sew and worked as a seamstress in her early years. She used that talent to sew clothes for her kids and loved sewing Barbie and doll clothes for her daughters. She also loved to crochet, knit, embroider and do cross-stitching. She loved to bake and used those skills to teach her kids the importance of serving others. When her kids were younger for every Christmas, she would bake lots of cookies and other baked goodies and as a family they would give them away to family and friends. Larue was an avid reader and spent hours reading books from Anita Stansfield, Claire Poulson, Betsy Brannon Green, Mary Higgins Clark and many other authors. She also loved doing crossword puzzles in her spare time. Larue loved all types of flowers and loved to garden. She loved to can fruits and vegetables for her family and for food storage.
After her husband’s death in 2010 she moved to Independence, MO to live with her daughter until her death on July 29, 2019. She passed away peacefully at home with 3 of her daughters and other family by her side.
Larue loved God, her family and the gospel and her wish before she passed was that her family would all be together again one day.
Larue is preceded in death by her husband, Selemaia Hafoka. Her parents, Samuel and Caroline Clegg and her two sisters, Ruth Clegg and Janavie (Clegg) Rowley.
Larue is survived by; Matthew Hafoka (Jordan and CJ Hafoka), Aisake Hafoka, Leah (Hafoka) Tonga (David Tonga, Tevita, Selemaia, Meleoni and Sioeli Tonga), Etueni Hafoka, Finau Hafoka, Laura Hafoka, Lute Hafoka (Aphrodite Marsden) and Sioeli Hafoka (Victoria and Weston Hafoka). She is also survived by 9 siblings.
