Laveigh Marie Rooney of Lathrop, Missouri passed away Friday, July 19, 2024.
She was born August 17, 1928, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri to John and Minnie Newton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rooney, her parents, her brother, George Newton, sister, Laveta Dunning, Laveta’s husband, Uel Dunning, and her son-in-law, Phillip Steinbuch.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Steinbuch and Heather Rooney-Myers, son-in-law, Michael Myers, and is grandmother to 3 grandchildren; Scott Cameron and his wife, Amy Cameron, Ian Cameron, Tara Dollins and her husband, Jim Dollins as well as 4 great-grandchildren; Paul Cameron, Lucas Cameron, Elizabeth Cameron and Kian Dollins.
Laveigh enjoyed 2 careers, the first as a successful real estate broker across the Kansas City Metropolitan area and the second, as co-owner of The Enchanted Frog antique store in Lathrop MO.
She was loved by many and will be missed by family and friends. Internment of ashes will be held privately at Mt Moriah, Kansas City, Missouri, and a celebration of life to be scheduled at a later date.
So sorry to hear of Laveigh’s death. She was such a kind lady. I’ll always remember her teaching me to play bridge.
