Lawrence (Lee) LeFever

Lawrence J. (Lee) LeFever, 81, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at his home of natural causes. Lee was born November 27, 1927, in upstate New York to Lawrence J. LeFevre and Clara (LaChance) LeFevre and grew up in the New York area. During World War II, Lee served in the U.S. Merchant Marines and sailed all around the world supporting the country’s armed forces. Later in life, he was a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. His youthful days at sea gave him a life-long love of Boating and water, and he enjoyed many years spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks on his Boat — the Sea Fever. His love of Automobiles lead him to a lifelong career in the Automobile business, where he worked in sales his entire life and sold 1000’s of cars and trucks to 100’s of friends and neighbors that came back to him time and again at Northtowne Lincoln Mercury. He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Iris D. LeFever (Babe), his four children, Larry LeFever and wife Jeana, Gary LeFever and wife Kathy, daughter Tammy Turner and husband H.B. Turner and his son Scott LeFever and wife Melody. He is also survived by his eight wonderful grandchildren: Jennifer LeFever, David LeFever, Laura LeFever, Miles LeFever, Abby LeFever, Kaleigh Turner, Hannah Turner and Alyssa Turner. He also leaves a brother, Raymond LeFever of Florida, and sister, Bonnie Pfaff of New York. Grandpa Lee was loved by all and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. He lived life to the fullest and was fortunate to have suffered with health concerns only in his later years. A visitation and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 15, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 9555 North Oak Trafficway, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Charity of your choice.
