Leesa L. Williams

Leesa L. Williams was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri on September 1, 1981 to the late Johnny Williams Sr and Phylliss Crockett. She attended Southeast High School where she graduated in 2000. She went on to attend Heritage College, where she majored in Pharmacy Tech and graduated in 2006. Leesa was employed at the Jackson County Courthouse when her health began to fail. She worked for the Board of Equalization.

She is preceded in death by: maternal and paternal grandparents, Cleveland & Aretha Richards, James & Lorraine Williams; brothers, Charles Crockett, Wendall Crockett, Michael Warren; sister, Tracie Lumpkins; brothers-in-law, Richard Lumpkins, Johnny McGowan Sr.; nephews, Johnny McGowan Jr, Christian Crockett Sr; and niece, Tiffany Griddine.

Leesa professed her belief in Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Augustine Pentecostal Church. She would attend church with her sister, Tina or watch church services from home. Leesa lived life to the fullest. She loved all her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as they were her own. Leesa was a hugger and loved her family, and cooking. She was famous for her Mac and Cheese. Leesa loved to be around family and friends, having a good time.

When she needed good advice dealing with men, she would talk with her brother-in-law, Tyrone Collins and nephew, Dominique Horton. Leesa was outgoing, funny and a very optimistic woman. She was a diva, in her own way with her hair and nails always on point. Leesa has touched many lives and loved everyone; always wanting a hug.

She was alway bragging about her family and how close we all are. Leesa loved taking pictures at every chance she could. She has touched so many lives and loved everyone. She will be missed by many. The pop-ups she would do at any time at family members’ homes. Especially at Mom’s, no matter what time it was. You may be gone physically, but you will never be forgotten, spiritually.

Leesa leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Phylliss Crockett; siblings, Toni Collins (Tyrone), Tina McGowan (Todd), Rachel Crockett, Ebony Williams, Johnny Williams Jr. “Jay-Jay”, Alfonzo Tunley (Malika); a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends. She is also remembered by her special friends; Robert Butler, Deidra West, Marjorie Johnson and LaMesha Ross who preceded her in death.
