I am so sad to hear of the passing of Leona she was a great woman. Always welcomed kids in her home waiting for the school bus on cold or rainy days this is the most memorable memory I have of her amoung many more. She knew me since I was 4 years old that is 35 years. She was a great MOM, and a wonderful Grandmother..and of course a loving WIFE. I don’t know how she always timed it but I used to think she knew magic because if I were there at the Chaney house and it was time for Bill to come home she would know just minutes before he would drive up and she would start to prepare his dinner. She never forgot people at Christmas either and when her grandchildren came all her cards would have pictures of them in there, oh and let’s not forget she would always include the family pet ALWAYS, Oh the memories of Leona. She will be missed by all, especially me. May peace be with her..and one day we will all reunite. Bill, Laurie, and family my prayers are with you that you get thorugh this difficult moment of losing a wonderful person in your life but please know she is in a much better place and most of all at peace and that is all we ever want for our loved ones. Take care and GOD bless. Rhonda J. Cruz (Carpenter)

That was a beautiful video. Leona had a happy and wonderful life. Here is a poem that helped me get through the passing of my mom. I hope it gives you peace.
You never said “I’m leaving” You never said good-bye. You were gone before I knew it, And only God knew why.
A million times I needed you. A million times I cried. If Love alone could have saved you, You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly. In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place, That no one could ever fill. It broke my heart to lose you, But you didn’t go alone For part of me went with you The day God took you home.

Mom you were the greatest Mom there was. We had our moments. I will miss going places with on Saturdays
when we go to the store. I Love you so much mom. I will miss you a hole bunch. I remember all the kids my mom would watch and I was always there to help mom. I would play with them to keep them out of trouble. We got close to 4 of them Jami & her brother Steven and Tyler & Lindy. They were part of the family.
My mom is with Tyler and Lindy. They have Grandma Leona and I am think they are having fun with each other while they are waiting for us to join the fun they are having.
Mom I Love you and I miss you so much.
    Laurie A. Chaney (daughter)
