Leonard Rogers Eckman

Leonard Rogers Eckman, 45, of Kansas City, MO passed away on Wednesday, October 20th. At this time due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family has requested to have an immediate family only viewing on Thursday, October 28th then his cremation following. Another memorial will be arranged at a later date for everyone in March 2022.

Mr. Eckman was born on March 4th, 1976 in Kansas City, MO. He worked as maintenance foreman and mechanic for the company former known as Yellow Cab for over a decade. In Mr. Eckman’s spare time, he enjoyed cooking and BBQing for his family and friends. He had a creative spirit as he loved to write stories, listen to music and watch movies.

His survivors include his father and mother, William Ray and Katherine Ann Eckman. He is the oldest of four children; little sister Katherine Dawn Hanks, little brother, Luke Scott Eckman and baby sister Karen Heather Eckman. Mr. Eckman is a loving uncle and godfather to Stephen Hanks and Olivia Hanks.

    Sending prayers to the Eckman Family. There are no words to take away the pain of loss, especially an unexpected one. I hope you can all come together and support each other in this difficult time. As part of Karen’s work family, we will do our best to help her get thru this period of loss. Leonard sounds like he was a great guy and I’m sorry for you loss of him.
