Leslie Wilson Wrinkle, 62, of Columbia passed from this life Monday, July 27, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Leslie was born August 2, 1946 to the late L.R. and Nita (Pugh) Wrinkle. He grew up in Columbia and graduated from Hickman High School, attended college in Moberly and Linn and received his bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University. Les served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from ABB in Jefferson City and before his illness worked at Boone County National Bank. Les was a lifetime member of the NRA and volunteered at the Central Missouri Food Bank. He and his wife, Bert, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, live theatre, and attending annual Seabee reunions. A gifted craftsman, he enjoyed woodworking, stained glass, and home improvement projects. Les was known for his attention to detail, kindheartedness and devotion to his friends and family. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Roberta; brother, Ronnie; daughter, Julia Saykally; stepchildren, Marla (Randy) Shifflett and Raylon (Michelle) Opie; granddaughter, Sophy Saykally; step-grandchildren, Jessica and Janna Shifflett, Parker and Blake Opie and a host of friends. Memorial donations can be made to the Central Missouri Food Bank.

I worked with Nita Wrinkle Les mom. She was proud of her son and Ronnie has been my friend for years. My heartfelt prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
Leslie was good to me a child. He was so kind and soft spoken. I’ve thought about him often through the years. I will miss him.

My wife, Peg, and I extend our sympathies to Les’ family. I had considered Les a wonderful friend and I relied on his faithfulness to detail and competency in so many ways. He was a man of integrity and of great value to others. May God grant you all peace and comfort and cherish the wonderful memories you have of his investment in your life.
Bert, Mom called to tell me about Les. I am sorry I never got a chance to meet him. Mom always said such nice things about him. Marla and I still keep in touch with Christmas cards and now we are friends on facebook. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Paula Jones

He was such a GREAT person
It was truly a joy to know Les in this life. He was very kind, and genuinely compassionate. Bert- my mom, Betty, and I have you in our thoughts.

First man I met when I reported to MCB74. Les walked right up to me introduced himself and from that moment on he was and will always be remembered as great person.

Les “Snappy Puddin” was the man who trained me when I started to woek in engineering at Westinghouse in 1972. We were instant friends and shared many happy moments. This was a shock to hear. My sympathy to Les’ family. I will always remember his smiling face.

Les was a classmate from High School (Hickman). Though I haven’t seen him in a number of years, I remember him as a very kind man and a good friend. My condolences to his family and friends.
